I have seen the different gearbox breathers, where some have the catch tanks, and some have hose and in line breather. What type of breathers are people using? They seema lot better value than the alloy catch tanks. Does anyone use the hose alone with no breather, and where is the best position for the hose once fitted?

hose and a breather will be fine. Breathers are less than £5. route it up to next to the header tank

Yes what sort of breather? I was in motorist shop and they had fuel breathers, but will they be ok? Or is it a specific breather just for the gearbox?

There's a guide here somewhere but a piece of fuel pipe works OK. I had it on an NA without a catch tank and I don't think anything ever made it to the top of the pipe as it was always clean. Turbos spit out more it seems.
