After losing all power on a drive home a couple weeks back (P0404 code) I decided it was time to fit the EGR cheater (along with cleaning/protecting all the connectors that I could find in the engine bay).

Here are the pics just in case anyone is interested  . A balloon was used to cover the whole lot, seems to be OK so far...

That's very good!!! Don't suppose you want to make 10 or so and sell them...? If you could do some EML cheaters too you'd be my HERO!!!!

if you want a ready made egr cheater than buy one from the www.z22se.co.uk site, the money goes towards the site's server costs

Then you could allus flog them to Mushroom Racing to retain stock and supply.

EDIT: For Vocky... the plug and play on the connection is what interests me most with that version.... Could you even retain the EGR valve in place whilst I tried out the cheater to see whether it improves the slight fluctuations of RPM speed (and a touch of stutter) on idle.

Cheers Vocky, I was looking for a way to retain the plug if possible. Did a bit of research into the other half of the connector but could only get them in quantities of 1000 or £50 for a sample one from Delphi. In the end I went for an open ended connector.

Probablly best left to http://www.z22se.co.uk/shop/ I believe the money goes towards the running of the site. It was also my boss who did the shuffling of components and soldering, he's not too keen on turning it into a production line.

The layout is there so Vocky could do a batch and sell them via the z22se if there was a call for it.

I do offer a plug in version, only if requested, but I recommend soldering as it's very important to get a good connection on the egr cheater wiring. I like the method used for this plug in version and might start making a few if thats what people want  ps: thanks for showing how you made your version Pete Imnotworthy

Mr V Master N.... Cheers for the MIL cheater, but do you remember which connector type I need..? From memory I seem to think type 5 is the one....

I think it is type 5, but it's been a long time since I actually paid any attention to what type they are

Yep, I agree that that soldering the wires and using the heatshrink around them is a lot cleaner and easier to keep safe.

The plug has benefits but I may need to refine it a bit more to make sure it stays connected...

That's the one I've got. I fitted not long after I got the car and has been fine. I did make up one of the other type on a board but never used it. Think it's still on the garage. Got the bits from maplins.
