Hey guys Good to meet up with you all again and meet a few new faces. I think a good time was had by all despite the weather. thumbsup Just a shame my car had to play silly buggers to stop me playing more. Turns out it was as expected and it was the engine mount that I replaced on friday. For once it wasn't something I've done and the engine mount is now off my car in 2 pieces (after 70miles! ) I've replaced it and it's all fine again and feeling nice and tight round broxburn's finest roundabouts. Just rotten luck I suppose! thumbsdown I've got a whole load of pictures to sort out for the event I was covering yesterday so won't get round to posting the pictures from today up until tomorrow. I got everyone on track except me. Anyway, Thanks again to LD for organising the day and I look forward to doing it again. chinky chinky Bob

Yes - a cracking day despite the weather. Thanks to LazyDonkey for organising (the trackday that is - not the damn weather). Glad you've fixed your car Bob - maybe you could fix mine..... clunk clunk clunk...... :angry2: There was no doubt that Muzza and the guys from GUMSC were having a fantastic time in that wee MX-5. They just kept on going all day. Imnotworthy Made me feel a wee bit :gayfight: Loking forward to seeing some photos. Cheers, Kev

Glad you all enjoyed it despite the weather chinky chinky Was a bit nervous as it's a very different experience to KH, and that combined with the weather could have put people off but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves which is brilliant. True to my worst fears the VX got worse on the way home, with the alternator light now coming at under 3k..........or 55mph in 5th. So had to amuse / scare myself by not braking on the muirkirk road to make up for the fact that i couldnt accelerate :groupjump:

ok
Here you go!

I only realised when uploading them that there was a big spot of rain on the lens which has put a mark on all the shots. Let me know if you want the big copies of them and I'll clone all that crap out of them and tidy them up.

Great photos Bob. Can I have a big one of Kames040710 022.jpg and can I use it on my blog page? Interesting how much my car is rolling compared to some others. The front/rear spring rate imbalance must be affecting things. Time for some stiffer springs methinks.....

Nice photos Bob. Really like the side on shots, they give a good impression of speed and movement. You even made my two tone car look good. I really enjoyed Kames. Despite it being all slow speed stuff, it was a good challenge, especially the fast left-hander in the clockwise direction. I'm sure it is flat in 4th but I bottled it with a dab of brakes every time. It was my first time out in the wet on A048 tyres and I was worried they'd be a handful in the slippy conditions. What a great tyre though. Very grippy through all but the largest puddles and offered great traction out of bends and good front end grip braking and turning in. At least as good as a standard road tyre, if not a little better in the wet. Very surprising the wet grip was so close to dry weather performance. I'll not grudge paying the £600 plus when I need to replace them now. Good to meet a few more local VX owners too. Hope to catch up at Knockhill later this year.
