Also i think vauxhalls take on the matter is how much money will all this generate for them.....

What do you expect. They're a business. That's what businesses do.
You paid money - they gave you a car. Seems like a fair deal to me. I think we should be grateful for what we have been given already.

I am not being funny but i would think that the VXR project would be difficult to market to anyone not on this site, how many have been sold as a direct result of it? It is a compliment to the site that vauxhall think it is a good area to fund as a direct or indirect form of marketing, hence bmw coulnt care less as they sell the cars without owners clubs. Dont think this is any kind of dig at you or the site but GM do not give money out just to keep a few fanatics happy. I just wonder if they will be interested when the vxr run has all been sold?

This is all a mystery to me! However I joined because i am VX mad - have lightening 031. Life is too short for these bickerings. Hopefully through this site I will meet next sunday (Swan with Two Nicks, Little Bollington, Nr Altincham) many other members, which surely this has to be all about. Thorney this is a mega site - great fun - keep it like that ..... chinky chinky If a formal club develops then so be it but remember its all voluntary - this is not Enron (I hope!). To the future....... rallly

I'm not going to comment on any of the information about the allegations, the counter evidence, the members involved etc.
I think Thorney's proposal above it basically what is required.

I think a board is required, although I'm not sure whether the suggested roles cover what is involved. For example, who is responsible for liason with Vauxhall, who deals with site sponsorship, technical issues etc? It seems to me that there needs to be a single point of contact for each major function (even if one person has more than one "role") to spread the workload around suitably, even if everyone is involved in everybody else's area.

I honestly believe the finances should be as transparent as possible. Not just to ensure trust from all members, but to appeal to more sponsors as well. I think potential sponsors would be much more willing if they could see details, such as "we raised x amount from sponsorship, which went towards spending y amount on site infrastructure, z on national meets etc". To do this when the money is controlled by Thorney Ltd seems too invasive to the company to me.

No, simple as that.

While I too would love to see Skiddo and PB back, I think their feelings run quite deeply, and I think it's unlikely that we will see them back here in the near future.

Oh dear Mr T, It is not quite how you say it... Now just for the record, John posted 2 things. That he would donate clothing to Alain for organising the Swiss meet and second that the new server was up and running before xmas. I drove 260 miles to meet VEX to pick up the clothes. I then DONATED as was expected to Alain. I was then asked to pay for all received, a little shocked, after 2 PM's and a lost address, I paid JT £100 pounds for the things GIVEN to Alain. I then added £50 pounds of my own cash to support the server fund. After wondering what happend to the server fund money, I asked for an assessment to be done on what the site had cost John Thorne. Well it transpired that £2.50 per year is what was being spent. I then asked a legal representative to look at the wording used by Mr Thorne for idependent "donations" to a server fund. Johh knew of this and will think what he needs to think, Skiddo and PB are disgusted after his post. The others I am not sure. Some have organised events for you so I guess they me feel it better not to respond. As for other things I am activly chasing down other monies that may or may not have been "donated" and where that money is. I have no axe to grind, I had JT sat in the front of my car when he (might have) wanted a lift at Donnington. The Colin Blower episond was farsical, they knew nothing of the site nor Skiddo's generous offer to take photo's for free. They even asked for a CD of pic's taken over the weekend even after JT had told offered to do all publications (another thred me thinks) Believe what you need to believe, just watch you cash. Done now. Stumps.

As far as i know only 8 people have bought one off here. The rest are people who haven't even heard of this site and are buying an image they have seen in magazines i.e the stickered up sprint.

Annie who is a new member is a perfect example and i hope she enjoys the car as much as we all do. It was her who ordered her car after seeing it in a magazine.

Can you tell me where I can get my domain hosted for £2.50 per year please Stumpy cos it's costing me a lot more than that for not much bandwidth. I could do with saving a few quid - might help me be able to get another toy car sooner...
