Just noticed the thread about the fuel gauge which I also suffer with but I get the impression that it is just one of those things as I have had similar on other cars when throwing them around a bit so it's not a massive problem as long as it reads correctly when flat and level. However the other day on a ride around the Cat and Fiddle I did notice my brake warning light flickering as I was dropping back down into Macclesfield around the tighter corners, at first I thought it was the oil light
as it was off before I got a proper look, luckily I had the wife with me and she was then put on "spotter duty" and it was definately the brake light. When I pulled over and had a look the level was fine, is this another "one of those things" that you get when cornering hard or do I have to look for something else. The rear pads look like they are coming up for a change with about 5mm left (fronts are new 1144's on new discs), do the Brembo's have wear indicators fitted, and if so could it be this?
Thanks in advance, Ray.

They all do that - but just check the fluid level in case.

Probaly worth topping up to just below the max line anyway
A couple of people have had this problem and it's turned out o be the handbrake switch, but more than likely it's the fluid
When was the last time it was changed

5mm on the rears....... they are better than new then
The rears come with next to fcuk all material on them.

Was handbrake light for me, though I'm not sure what fixed it - garage did say that they thought a few frayed cables might be touching on cornering, causing the light to flicker on, but whether they sorted that or it was brake fluid/brakes that were done around the same time, I dk.
Sorry, not a lot of help - I also had an orange dash light appearing (can't remember which, airbag perhaps?), implying it prob was a bit of cable-touching going on.

My hand brake light kept flashing on every time I took a relatively easy left hand bend....topped up the brake fluid level to just over max and it went away

check your inside pads - they wear faster than the outside ones.
Its probably cos you are closer to the end of the pads than you think.
I've done 60k in my car and ive never had to top up brake fluid, but i have had this light a few times and in each case it was fixed by changing pads.

I get this as well, only on 11k miles so always discounted the brake pads being the cause and I also have loads of fluid in the reservoir. It's always left hander's that trigger mine, I put it down to dodgy handbrake switch/reservoir sensor which is over-active or not buoyant enough or something.

Thanks for all the replies, maybe I was a little over the top with my estimate of the rears but there is a good 3.5-4mm on them (so they are nearly new then!), there is plenty of fluid in the reservoir and I will top it up to the max for the time being. I am going to do a full fluid change when I get chance as I want to track it so not taking any chances. Sounds like a lot of people have had similar experiences then.
