Hi all, thinking about buying a DVD car stereo with a flip out screen. Does anyone know if this will work in a VX? It looks like the dash above the stereo may stick out too much and the screen would knock against it. The stereo I'm looking at is the Pioneer AVH-P5700DVD cheers Michael

you guessed correctly. My car had one fitted when i bought it and it had to sit in a wee plinth thing to work. Unfortunately the pics went bye bye when we moved servers.

It's not like you'll be able to hear it, or is in a good place to view - concentrate on driving!

The vibrations would probably mess up the screen mechanism anyway...

Some flip out screens will work, depends if its got a angle option on the screen.

I got this one from Halfords, not a bad unit, works well, the screens a little hard to see in bright weather but doesn't really matter 9 months of the year.

Yawnnnn  He didnt ask do you think he should fit one! Use your head, you can get loads of songs on a dvd disc for a start. just because its fitted doesnt mean he has to view it while driving, could be for passenger purposes, or plenty of other reasons. Mines a dream when im camping and me and the misses want to watch something, keep her quiet on long journeys too.

Yes but then you can't play DVD's through an SD card I phone etc

A flip up dvd player's a jack of all trades. i was merely pointing out a plus :)

Kenwood KVT-52*DVD with the Z action screen fits fine. You are best off taking some measurements and finding them in a shop as the dash overhang can get in the way on a lot of them. Also handy for me to put my ChaseDVR through.

A lot of the pioneer units have a function to allow them to pop out further also.
