Hi all need advice / help again. Went to the car this morning and pressed the alarm fob. No reaction from the car. Thought the battery in the fob may have gone so went and got the spare. Same thing. Unlocked and opened the door and no alarm activation. Car started fine and I drove to work. Switched engine off and alarm siren went off. Pressed key fob and it stopped. Got out and locked the door and yet again, there was no reaction from the alarm when the fob was pressed. Unlocked and opened up again. No siren Also noticed that the interior light didn't work (regardless of switch position). When I press the "door open" button thingy down at the sill, I can hear a relay clicking so I assume the switch is fine. The alarm LED has never flashed since I had the car, so I can't comment on that. Any help? ta

Blimey. Try a "reset" perhaps - point fob at car, press and hold for a while, about 10 secs I think? Sometimes if alarm's been set off, it goes into a funny mode that this can fix.

Another one is to open the alarm fob and make sure the batteries are correctly seated in the little bracket. If you have dropped your keys at anytime they could easily have moved and not making a great connection. As for interior light, that could be unreelated as that runs off a different fuse (and therefore I assume a different circuit) to the alarm.

The alarm runs off the same circuit and fuse as the power feed for the stack unit and the car won't start if that fuse is dead.... The starter motor will turn, but won't spark into life.

Can't find my thread, but it must be there somewhere.

thanks for the replies. Seems it was fuse related. I was checking the fuses in the front and when I pulled the fuse - 4th from front on the passenger side of the fuse box (7.5amp) - the siren chirped 4 times, but the fuse was OK. I carried on and the last one (isn't it always the last one) was blown. It was the 7.5amp fuse at the front of the passenger side of the fuse box. Replaced this and all was fine again. Can anyone provide me with a fuse "map" for future occurances? Sometimes they are printed on the underside of the lid, but not on my car. thanks Michael

It's in the owners manual. Or use the search as I've posted a pic of the page numerous times on here.

(ignore red part; was used for another post)

Print a copy of the manual, and toss it in the back:
http://www.speedster...wnersmanual.pdf
It may come in handy once in a while.

thanks for that. The fuse I had blown was number 11. According to that diagram it should be a 10 amp fuse, but the one that was blown was 7.5 amp and thats what I replaced it with. Looks like I'll be needing to swap that out for a 10amp - unless anyone says that the diagram is wrong and that it should be 7.5amp in position 11?

I stand corrected, looks like the alarm also runs on fuse 11 as well as fuse 8 (B+ services). Glad your sorted
