I have a shift light but after a while I change on the sound of the engine, it's only when I am not paying attention that I need the thing "O it's flashing better change gear
"

you can tell when the engine hits 7800rpm, the sound is so addictive

Its pretty pointless tho, I mean, mite be useful if you were completely deaf.... Or partially blind and could not see the big fcuking needle approaching the big fat red line?

Agree on that, but for some reason I think I want one.

I'd suggest you should be looking where you're going and not at the rev counter.Or partially blind and could not see the big fcuking needle approaching the big fat red line?

7200 rpm gear changes should be fineAlso doesn't help that my new rev limit is at 7200rpm and the valvetrain is only really safe to 7000rpm.

I tend to change gear when the power peaks, which on mine is 7600rpm, so I never hit the limiter.... well not often

Kewl. We couldn't be bothered to get Stefan to write a new map with a 7k limit, so we just stuck with Joe's map and it's 7.2k limit and only dyno'd it to 7050rpm and I said I'd steer clear. Probably still safer to aim for a 7k change but nice to know it's not in imminent danger of exploding if I get carried away.7200 rpm gear changes should be fine
