Reference: Front Wheel Drive Gearbox ST90-14 >> PDF

TECHNICAL DETAILS :
· 6 speed dog ring gearbox, with sequential gearing

· Different final drives available
· Variable ratios
· Gear teeth are 14mm wide, straight cut on 90mm centres
· Splash lubrication, with cooling circuit pump and suction filter
· Front self-locking differential with a choice of ramp angles and preload settings
· Design for 2L and 3L engines, up to 350 N.m (250 lbs/ft) engine torque
· Clutch release slave cylinder (Sadev specific one) is included
· Clutch shaft to suit customer installation is included
· Weight : 42,5 kg

OPTIONAL :
· Gear lever with neutral reverse cable

A bargain at £7K :) I went to a sadev dealer when looking for a gear cable maker.... the boxes are utter porn!

iirc the dealer I went to said they had some guy running a mental V8 of roader and the box fitted wasnt rated anywhere near the torque this engine was making, and it was running for 2 seasons at a time without rebuild. Although its a lot of cash to take that gamble with :lol:

Off roaders aren't going to get enough traction to load it up though. Circuit car with big slicks is a bit of a different story unfortunately. I would LOVE something like that in the Europa but with the M-32 being so robust and cheap to replace its very hard to justify a change. Also, following the Britcar 24 today, it seems like loads of teams suffer flat shift and flappy paddle failures. Good old synchro's do have their advantages!

it was also the benefit of having a diff designed for the purpose , rather than stick in an aftermarket passive jobbie. If I an going to have a LSD then I want a clever programmable one, not just oily bits. 250 lb-ft at 8000 rpm = 380bhp , map it to restrict boost and have a completely flat torque curve.

I would be looking for more like 520bhp if I were revving to 8K!

Personally I would not choose a plate LSD in a VX, the torsen type suits the chassis better IMHO.
