I've acquired a hard top but the seals on it are basically crap. They arent the proper seals for the VX roof, just some off the shelf stuff that some joker as tried to attach on with double sided tape. Does anyone know where to get the proper seals from? I seem to remember they are made by some German company? Or do the Elise S2 ones fit?

The elise S2 ones fit. It's £9 for the front seal same for the back. Side seals are about £6 each. The standard ones are stuck on with double sided tape too!

I had the same problem. I cant tell you about the front and back as mine were ok to refit after spraying. Vaux want £80 for each side seal :drink: . I just bought the 49 U channel from these guys http://www.sealsdire...partmentId=3#21 I am over the moon with it. It dark black, cheap as feck and has a profile which clamps in on the edges which makes it water tight and easy to put on. I just applied a small bead of silicone on the inside edge of the roof and then slid it on (cut to size first). I didnt put silicone in the u channel as it would go everywhere. Put the hard top on last night and chufed to bits. I think its better than the OEM stuff as not as high. £8.21 for 3m delivered. Getting a bit excited about this rubber strip so better go now

Have you got a pic of it by any chance m8? Might try Lotus as well although I've dug this up from a search which suggests a similar price to vaux for the side seals about 80 quid: http://www.deroure.c...SC=0&PBID=38149

I used deroure.com for my hardtop, but that was only for the edging strips as it was being resprayed, not the water seals, Very good service from them though.

I'd be looking for them to come and fit the seals as well for 80 quid lol

I was going to say that's for the big rubber seal that sits against the window not the trim of rubber that goes around the edge which you would remove for a respray.
