I would guess these are untried and untested by VX owners. Under such circumstances I wouldn't waste my money and stick with what others recommend. Just my opinion though.

No idea what they're like but they've got nothing vaguely VX sized listed at Demon Theives.

Plus: "The Maxsport RB5 is a moulded slick rally tyre, designed for dry smooth tarmac surfaces". The VX ain't a rally car.

I have once heard a good report about these tyres, but I can't for the life of me remember where from... It would be great if someone tried them out... they seem so cheap :)

Yes I've tried them. I'm currently sitting in a ditch with a broken VX so can report they are no good  They are designed for Rallying so I doubt they would suit the VX.

They are probably ok, but I suspect they are remanufactured tyres like Colway f2s, hence the price (and tread pattern). I used the Colways on my old circuit car for a bit, even got caught out in the snow and was surprised at the amount of grip, but they were soft compounds. I wouldnt run them other than on airfield track days really, but the price means they are almost disposable (I got 8 for 50 quid from someone who wanted rid)

Some of the scottish elise lot used to put them on S1s but since 888s and 048s came along no-one does anymore. Probably tells it's own story.

I used to service on a few rally cars. One of the other lads bought a 205 Gti, it came with a set of RB5s, set of 888s, along with some T1-Rs as wet tyres. The RB5s were virtually indestructable, I believe he still has them now. They did however offer fcuk all grip, and no matter what tyre pressure performed absolutely terribly. The only time they came into use was at Woodbridge Stages, where the surface was so abrasive it wore the other tyres too quickly for his budget. So from the perspective of an 800kg FWD car running 130bhp on a 195/50/15 tyre profile, they were shockingly bad in terms of performance. Best use for them was to keep the car off the floor.
