Can anybody help with info about this kit http://www.vx220.org...63#entry1107963 ? Asked in the description for more details but had no joy. Trying to find out the spring rates, if they would fit a vxt without hassle, be suitable spec & mainly if would be a worthy upgrade over standard Billy's. Also where you would fit the remote reservoirs. Not sure if it's back or front that has these. Last question is whether there is plenty of ride height adjustment to get rid of the wheel arch gap I'll prob get when my 16's go on the front. If they're not recommended I take it it's Gaz Gold, Nitron Street or higher spec Nitrons if get a lottery win!! Thanks a lot folks. Cheers.

they look as though they could be progressivly wound. but as they are Lotus OEM i'd expect them to be softer than the after market stuff.

Why do you want to know the spring rates so badly? They are designed as a track upgrade over the standard exige dampers, so the spring rates and valving are sufficient for use with semi slicks on track. I don't expect the spring rates to be as high as Nitrons, but then the lotus spec Ohlins dampers are nowhere near as stiff as Nitrons and work very well indeed. Lotus recommend ride heights of 120, so yes these will go low enough for you to reduce the arch gap. These track spec bilsteins are a big upgrade over standard vx220 bilsteins!

You could always ask Lotus if you still want to know the spring rates..

The remote resevoirs are for the front shocks, you just mount them around the outside of the wheel arch. Theres plenty of people with the remote reservoirs on this site that should be able to give you an exact locations

I was just curious to the full spec re spring rates that's all. More important that they fit, are suitable for a vxt & if they are better than Gaz Gold or NSS for the money? Don't want to buy these & then find out later that Gaz Gold at £550 would have been more recommended for a tubby. Don't know if these are good value at £700 is what I'm really saying. Cheers.

To start with gaz are the cheaper twin tube damper, not mono tube like the Nitrons and Bilsteins. I personally think the Bilsteins are a bargain - They retail at over £2k from Lotus.....

I've PM'd the seller to sort out the final details!! Would these be comparable to say the Nitron NTR stuff then? If anybody can advise or has pics of where / how you'd mount the remote reservoirs i'd be grateful. I asked the seller about this & he said a lot of people just cable tie them up but I was thinking there might be some proper brackets or mounts available if they were an option on the Exige. Cheers for the advice chinky chinky

My Nitron NTR's are great and I'd not swap as they are specific to me (super stiff), but these Billies are adjustable monotubes so are certainly comparable!! Especially with the 2 way fronts!!!!!!!!!

Mount like this

Not a VX I know, but you get the idea!!!! Car is Nitron's N2 Project

Yes they are comaparible to Nitron 2 ways. For starters, single way Nitrons over over £1k and they are not that brilliant on the road imo. These bilsteins are good balance for track and road - Lotus have suggested settings too. My advice would if you got these would be to look at purchasing the yellow lotus motorsport arb - they will work well together, and you would still have change out of purhasing Nitron NTR's.

Thanks for the info. So looking at that pic they would mount under the bonnet in the corners somewhere at the base of the windscreen ish? Would this be a clam off job to fit them there or it possible to feed them through somehow? The yellow Lotus Motorsport ARB you mentioned, I take it that's an uprated version to go with this suspension then? Are these something that has to bought from Lotus or does anybody else sell them? chinky chinky P.S. Will mention your commission when speaking to junks!!

Clam doesn't need to come off. Pretty straight forward to mount tbh.

The lotus yellow adjustable arb is from lotus only. This arb is also an extra that is included in the track pack for the exige, you could say they are designed to work together. Just a suggestion but you would get good handling car as lotus intended.

The lotus yellow lotus arb can be bought online from bell covill, or christopher neils.

No, not clam off job. At worst, it's arch liners out but you can probably bend the arch liners enough to pass the attached reservoir up to the area you want to mount them on. I think in the factory Exige, they're actually mounted in the void behind the arch liner, ahead of the door but most aftermarket fittings seem to fit under the bonnet. LeeVX2.2 has recently fitted secondhand Nitron 2-ways and used some off the shelf clips (maybe pipe clips) of some form. Might be worth a PM to see what he used but will depend on the diameter of the reservoirs.

Probably become clearer when got the suspension & wheel arch in front of me

Had a search for the arb, is it this that you're talking about? http://www.bellandco...stable/1389.htm

Thanks for the link I was looking at the wrong one.

Will this be a straight fit for the vxt without problems? In the link it says 'Requires Nylon ARB Mounts plus Fixings if fitting to Elise S2 , Exige S2'. If these are needed wonder why it's not sold with the arb as a kit?

Is it just the fact that it's adjustable that makes it an improvement to standard oem vxt item or is there other differences?

Can't see the second hand link prob as i'm not a member on there. How much is that up for?
