Hi All, My adjusters have broken on my headlight and I want to have a go at repairing them as I don't fancy paying the £880 it costs for a new one. It is the plastic clips that the adjuster balls fit into that have broken and the light has become loose in the housing. It looks like the housing needs to be cut into to gain access or the adheshive between the two mouldings removed to seperate them, if that is possible. I read through the guide thread on broken headlights, but all the photos have gone. So, has anyone got advice or a guide to getting into the housing to fix the clips? Also what should the clips be remplaced with? Ideally I would like to come up with a solution that allows adjustment and which will last longer than the standard adjusters. Also, I have already taken the lense off and brought some polyurethane adhesive sealant to bond it back on with. Since then though I have read a few threads about lense's falling off after being bonded back on. Is the polyurethane sealant the correct one to use please? THe one I have brought is in a green tube and is made by Group Auto Union. The guy in the paint shop said it was good. Thanks Kirk

Thanks for that. I've search through loads of threads, but managed to miss them. I'm in two minds as to whether to go for it or try and find a second hand headlight. I'm not keen on the idea of chopping the headlight about, but its already broken now, so I guess I might as well go for it.

There must be loads of light unit insides kicking about, its the lenses that get damaged/fall off. Could try fixing yours, then if you balls it up you should be able to get a replacement inside bit.

Time to remove some cobwebs :ninja:

I'm having the same problem as the OP, the plastic clip is broken and the headlight isn't helping very much at night.
Did anyone find a solution to this problem? Not really keen on buying a new (secondhand) headlight...
