Nice spot. It shares the same "Kappa" platform. you forgot to mention the Daewoo G2X, and of course the Vauxhall VX Lightning.

Opps nearly forgot the Kappa on steroids - British muscle car Breckland Beira.

That looks like the bastard child of a BMW Z1, BMW Z8 and an MX5 threesome!

Its a about a car built on the same chassis like lotus elise/vx220

The the VX/Pontiac/Opel/Saturn/Daewoo/Breckland/VX lighting/ all share a chassis

(it couldnt last though GM was lossing $10,000 per chassis)

Yes thats the Kappa Platform.

The Opel Speedster replacement was the Opel GT. Although the VX220 was not replaced by the VX Lightning as was planned because Vx decided it unlikely to sell in significant numbers to justifiy the manifacture of a RHD chassis.

The cost of production was a major reason for its demise.

heh heh totally serious i'm afraid. Obviously in need of some education on this subject. I was just looking at the car and thinking how could that be anything to do with the VX, let alone it's successor.

Sorry Garry I think it looks hideous but could be swayed if it handled well and had some grunt that it could transmit to the rear wheels - or is it FWD? BTW the neighbours thinking of getting one imported :glare:

Rear wheel drive. standard 264hp (plenty of scope for tuning too) - lots of weight but good distribution. I like the looks.

Is the neighbour importing a Solstice or Saturn from USA or an Opel from Europe?

he's talking of getting it from the US. He's a pilot for Virgin and regularly goes to the states so i guess he's made some contacts out there.

In the states they have 2 engine sizes 2.4L. n/a or 2L turbo.

the 2.4 produces 177hp and Turbo - 264hp

and the body style of the Solstice (Classic British looks)

or the Saturn Sky (Styled from the VX Lightning) any Idea which body style the Neigbour is importing?

@Sutol

This link may show you the conection with Vauxhall.
