So i've just got back from Adrian Blyth in Guildford, 70 miles later and with a much lighter pocket than I started out with. Absolutely cracking service; Adrian was very welcoming and Rob the cleaner pretty much sold the car to me first time of viewing. A couple of pics:

First things' first some HIDs, black centre caps, relocating some buttons inside, some gauges and a hardtop. Plus much more in due course ;)

Cracking car Aaron. And being a Turbo its better than an N/A. ;) Bet you can't stop looking at it! But be careful out there on the wet cold roads. Its culling season for VXs.

I've only ever had N/A cars, so this being my first turbo i'm DEFINATELY going to look after it. And you're right, I can't stop looking at it, I want to get it into the dry and crack out the polish and the collinite :groupjump:

Congrats :) PS: Adding buttons and a hardtop won't make it any faster. How about saving up for some power/handling mods to turn a great car into a supercar?

Update 07/01/2011

It's been quite an expensive few days!

8000k HID kit bought. Black wheel nuts. Heated seat pads. Seat covers. Moonland Hardtop ordered. Windscreen surround wrapped in 3M Di-Noc Carbon Vinyl. Silver vinyl removed. Little plates ordered. Boost gauge/pod ordered. Flateblade wiper ordered.

Looks instantly so much better, and it helps that I gave the roof a good scrub a few days ago with Autoglym's finest! Can't wait to get the last little touches i've ordered on when they arrive.

I'll be tinting the side reps as well, and painting the centre caps when I fit the new wheel nuts. Can anyone give me some pointers about jacking it up before I put the jack through the chassis?

Congratulations and welcome to the site. :)

Have fun with your car and keep us up to date with your mods although don't over do it, you've got a lovely standard car there!

I bought the side indicators for my LY from here, cheap as chips!

:yeahthat:

The smoked look is much better in my opinion than the clear. I bought some identical ones off e-bay for about the same price.

What size of wrap did you use for your screen surround? Is it one piece or are there joins in it? Car is looking good!

I'll be honest with you....they're stupidly easy to fit. If you cant fit them your an idiot, which I am sure, you are not!

I broke the first set I tried to fit! :beat:

But the supplier replaced them without any hassle. There are locating lugs on the reverse side and these are prone to snap if you're not careful. A fellow forum member had the same problem as me and told me that the trcik he used was to warm the indicators on a radiator before you fit them.

I quite like the soft top colour against the moonland. Shouldn't be an issue soon anyway :D
