there is already one 2.4 vx220 running throttle bodies, he bought a 2.4 vvt engine from the states and fitted a z22se head thumbsup still thinking about importing a 2.4 bottom end for my car but not really sure if I can be bothered to build another engine as the current one is very good. you will need a standalone ecu to run the 2.4vvt as the trigger wheel is different to the z22se

is it simply a bigger bore, or is there more stroke involved too? (if more stroke then fook that for an unrevvy pile of laughs)

it's stroked to 2.4 thumbsup the plan was to create a bored out 2.5 litre Harrop sc engine using liners, so it wouldn't need to rev above 7000rpm. But I'm very happy with the saab 2.2 engine I have now, it revs so freely and only weighs 103KG, so phase 3 is on hold.

sounds good as standard engine at min, would you get the rods and pistons with that or seperate ones, plus looking for 320 bhp with harrop so would i need forged rods and pistons for 2.4 block .

standard 2.4 bottom end should cope with 320bhp, but an uprated 2.2 bottom end with a harrop gets 320bhp you are looking at £1k to import a 2.4 engine and it will need a new ecu, so £2k minimum cheaper to uprate the 2.2

I recommend you talk to who ever you will be having map the car and see what they prefer... a) they could get you a better price and b.) they will get the best results fastest with a system they know etc...

9/10 most aftermarket ecu's do the same stuff anyway and its the calibration thats key ;)

You could get some new liners fitted and go for a big bore Z22. Should be easy enough to get 2.4 but it will cost you!

I am running over 310 now, I have uprated bottom end + pistons + a few other things. at the moment also changing to the z20let ecu so with s/c cams it will be in the high 300bhp would like 400 but might be a bit much :D

it does cost though let me tell you
