Hi,

In my current car I have a modified custom surround which houses a Dashhawk scan gauge. This -

I need to decide whether or not to keep this and have it in a VX or let it go with the car / sell it on and get an alternative.

I intend to flush mount it into the dash along with a TPMS screen and other gadgets like on this car -

Has any one done similar? The dashhawk seems like it will be the perfect size. What OBD-II monitors do others use or reccommend and which do you reckon will fit as described? Do you have any pics you could show me? Presumably there is a nice void behind pretty much the whole length of that panel?

Any help much appreciated, cheers.

DashHawk doesn't (or at least didn't) support the VXT.

Bu**er, really? Guess that puts paid to that idea then. I did a quick search on here and found a brief mention of it being used, perhaps that was in the n/a? Can some one else confirm / deny? Is the car the later CAN bus?

Neither variant is CAN bus (cue incoming abuse from Slindborg).

CAN, no fcuking bus :P  and as the aRSe man said, no CAN anywhere near the VX220 in any shape or form (unless aftermarket added). Hmmmmm its looking like I should prod work into making something that could be fitted in the VX... It will do almost anything you want it to in the realms of data collection and display of TPMS, OBD, 'Infotainment' (urgh horrid name) etc

I have my Scangauge mounted underneath the dash, near the light switch, in a custum made holder (so it's removable).

Dashhawk won't work in the VX - CMS have confirmed this to me.

As B) as that dash setup looks, there's a lot of buggering round with the heater controls to get that sort of setup. As long as you're not looking for a temporary solution - just cut a hole in the dash top and stick it in there.
