Its jobs like this that really annoy me with this car. Such a simple job and no one wants to touch it as soon as you say VX220, so far I've had "whats one of them?" which is confidence inspiring, next was "ohhhh errrrrrrr" with a temble of fear in his voice, Vauxhall GY "I'll ask the head mechanic if he can do that on a VX220" Has anyone managed to get an alignment done on a VX220 in Norfolk? Cournteys dont do wheel alignment do they? Next its Lotus just outside Norwich. This is the massive downside to owning a VX220, I dread taking it to anyone for the simpliest of jobs in case that jack it up wrong, break bits off etc argghhh!

Funny, had mine done yesterday. Now drives better, less vibration, goes straight, and at full right lock the tyre doesn't rub against the wheel arch. Was expensive though. In Switzerland they have speedster competence centres within Opel. Is there nothing like that in the UK? Anyway, let me know if you need one in Switzerland, I'll point you in the right direction.

If you can get underneath it I'd advise to take the rear undertray off (so the trackrods are easier to access)as that will save them some time and you some money!with the undertray off it's no diffrent to adjust than say a freelander! Have you looked on alignmycar.com?as that tells you your nearest centre with hunter 4wheel alignment machines which give you a before and after printout(so you can see what was out, what's been adjusted and if they have adjusted it to the right spec) and they also carry specs if you wanted 340R settings or another diffrent settings.

Why do you want to take the rear undertray off? :s If the car is on a lift then you can get to all of the track rods quite easily from under the car. Any garage that has half a brain and some laser alignment equipment should be able to set it to factory settings without any problems. If you want something more specialised/tailored to your driving style, then it's worth going to a specialist garage.

You can get to them with the undertray on but it's easier with it off(well it is with a s2 Elise and I presume they are the same setup?)

When people say it was expensive, ballpark figure? The undertray is currently off after the new engine fitment, so that can stay off for the time being

I would definitely use a specialist service that do know what they're doing. Scared Stiff did wonders on my car that already had 340R settings. Standard settings are very compromised.
