Just got mine and about to install it this weekend. Hoping that it works well...

By the looks of it, it looks far superior to a regular tracker in the way that it locates the car, and also zone setting (it is also a hell of a lot cheaper!!)

That's right (except I got mine for £99 due to a special offer at a show.) I have got a certificate for the insurance company, but haven't told them yet. Will do so today and let you know what/if any saving I get. Looks like a cushtie product and you can set up "home zones" for when you are on holiday and "night safe" so if it get stolen in the night and moves out of the specified area you'll be alerted by phone and text. You have to respond for any action to be taken, so if you are with the car you can just ignore the notification. (extra £4 pcm for nightsafe) They will send you an e-mail apparently to show that they know where the car is when you first turn it on.

...but if someone could come up with a system to alert you of clam damage by a third party in a public car park :)

The thing is with this system is that it is transferable between cars so in theroy will last forever. When you get a new car, just whip it out and wire it in to that one. Unlike a tracker which is in the car for life. So when/if you move on to a more expensive/desirable car then you can just put it in that instead. By the way, trackers of all kinds increase insurance premiums apparently according to the guy I spoke to as replacement is then included in the insurance (admiral wanted £35, half of which is an administration fee  ) So yeah, it's peace of mind that is the best thing about it really, especially if you are on holiday or something like that and the car will be left for a long time. It also alerts you if the battery is running low or disconnected. Seems like they have covered most bases. What you want ideally is one of these that is linked into the alarm so alerts you to break-ins as well.... I think it is a good bit of kit, but obviously waits to been seen post-installation.

Good point, but if it was to help my insurance premiums then I would be tempted.

When I got my Impreza, I had a Tracker fitted because the insurance saving with one installed more than paid for it in the first year alone. :o

it'll be interesting to see if it makes a difference as i'd expect that as the probability of theft will be low therefore it shouldn't make much difference to the insurance company.

Now if it detected deisel then it would be a different mater.

Of course it lives in the garage. Why would I leave it on the drive if I've got a garage to park it in. It's been to two meets in the last three weeks? It's doing a Walshy day next week, and then two trackdays in the 3 weeks after that. Only reason it can't move today is that the middle third of the exhaust is currently sat in a cardboard box.

Unlike you, I don't want to sound like a Citroen Saxo VTR driving chav with a baked bean tin exhaust system on it. :P

You like it loud and you knew what you were getting - it's a Piper.

I'd rather mine didn't wake up every pet in the neighbourhood whenever I fire up the car. Or, having every pedestrian in a town turning around to try and spot the supercar, only to be confronted by a shitty old Vauxhall with a 4-pot engine.

I doubt it, but they will be able to track it globally so they will find out where it is once it lands.... We shall see. Maybe end up being a complete waste of time anyway!

Apparently, over Saudi they can't use trackers as pretty much all of the flash cars are giving off a signal!
