Hello! I have a difficult question. My NA Speedster has been crashed from behind and is now in the workshop. The workshop has bought a new rear clam and a full Tullet exhaust, and some other parts to fix the damage. The workshop also wants to change a heatshield that is attached to the underside of the boot. This part is temporarely out of stock with Opel Germany. The heatshield for the Turbo has a different part number but are in stock. Are the NA and Turbo heatshield interchangable or are there big differences between them. Part number 1 in this picture: http://www.speedster...ment/index.html Best Regards Stephan

the turbo has a smaller boot so will be shorter and thus won't fit the 2.2 some owners change them for nimbus because the original falls apart thumbsup

Mine is Nimbus, cut to size and mounted in the same way as the original one. Boot nice and cool inside.

Thank you for the answers. It will probably be Nimbus material for this. It always feels good to hear that other people have got it to work. Someone should write a thick repair and modification handbook for this car. Absolutely nothing is straight forward.

Nimbus Lite or Nimbus GII?

I'm thinking while I've got the rear clam off might as well get some other things done.

Turns out I don't have one either. Mine is fine, but I've seen others where the heat causes damage to and around the rear plate.

interesting because VXL want 93178003 - £95.70 , so I may give that a miss. I'm keeping the backbox blanket shield though.

I binned mine years ago as well and noticed no difference to boot temperatures. Although I did very little driving in traffic so always had good airflow through the engine bay.

The rear clam vents Jimmy and I have are definitely a factor in making the heat shielding superfluous. It would be worthwhile keeping an eye on the temperatures in there after track sessions to be on the safe side though. Although if you have a diffuser mounted on a low setting most of the heat can escape below the clam anyway.

I remember a customer waiting months for one in the past so I would go ahead with the other suggestion of leaving it off or the Nimbus option.

Has anyone tried the cirrus G111 stuff instead of nimbus? from what I can tell its just like nimbus but with a ceramic layer in the middle. I'm just curious to see what its like.

Thats a nimbus one. I'd guess its a full sheet which is about 45 quid new from nimbus motorsport. I'd guess you should be around 30-35 quid for it given its in fine fettle.

Yeah looks like nimbus on my iPhone! If I didnt have a huge sheet in the garage I would imagine it would be worth £40 to someone...
