I have a 60-2 trigger wheel (will be when I remove 2 of them anyway) for my z20let ecu conversion which firts on the crank pulley but am wondering if anyone knows the angle of the missing teeth from TDC to help me get it in the correct position

Are you talking about missing teeth in the cam wheels on a standard Z20LET ? I just put a cam sensor on my new engine yesterday - there are no missing teeth on the cam wheels.

i think he wants the angle of the sensor for instance on a z20net its 60-2, 117* before deadlock

the crank of the z20let is 60-2 and since the z22se is a 7-1, I need to fit an external trigger wheel, I have fitted it but need to remove 2 teeth and therefore I need to work out at what angle in relation to TDC it should be so I can get the timing correct 117 before thanks Imnotworthy is that to the trailing edge before the first missing tooth?

So on Z20NET (= Saab B207 = GM 2.0 LSJ ) it is 117* before TDC cyl 1.
Same question => where exactly is the 117° measured? Flank? Exact middle of the 2 missing tooth??

z20NET and Z20LET are most likely different

the above z20net was just an illustration, the GM family 2 block will be different.

But is Nick using a Z20NET position sensor already in the block?

No am using the alpha trigger wheel Bracket so the 60-2 bolts onto the crank pulley next to the s/c belt
The sensor will be relocated from the z22se oem position and extended wiring used(Vocky has done this already)

thank god i dont have this problem

Thanks Joe

Think they generally go from the back of the last tooth before the gap, well aftermarket ones tend too

well at TDC its going to be tooth 19,20 or 21 , and each tooth is (360/60) , 6 degrees. The control unit counts the edges of the square wave signals, knowing that each tooth and tooth gap take up 3° of crankshaft rotation; that is, except for the reference mark. At the reference point position, two teeth are replaced by a gap, so that five gaps come together. This means that on only 58 of the possible 60 tooth positions are occupied. Just googling and had 19,20 and 21 figures sofar , still trying to find a definitive answer for you Nick.

No problem it's just a going to be a pain to setup up at the correct angle as it's difficult to get to

I know Nick is using the Z20LET ecu stuff, but I have the LSJ ecu/ Z20NET lying around. So 117° it is for me, but where to measure?
