No. Good sales technique if they do sell in 4L but I have never seen a 4L bottle!

i bought two 4L bottles when i did mine recently, i put in just over 5L. (5.4 i think) but it makes sense to have some oil at home as mine seems to drink it when i thrash it. like joe said, good sales tactic. chinky chinky

I think only my shonky old nova would take 4L of oil, almost everything else will use 5+ litres..... cunning and shitbag marketing ploy

I've generally needed at least 5.5 to do mine. 5 will usually get the dipstick to max until first run then a top up after.

If you have an SC, then you will need just over 5 litres after a short drive then add 1 litre, after another short drive add another litre, after another short drive add another litre etc etc etc

Don't think it's down to the type of oil, although something thicker than normal might help.

yup i suggest 5 or 10w50 if you are burning that much oil then its simple. your engine has internal problem or there is a leak

I did exaggerate a little for comic effect Posted Image

It's about 500ml for 250 miles plus a heavy trackday on a double ester fully synth 5w 40. No visible leaks so it must be being burnt off. I'm going to try something thicker once my current stocks have been run down, and see if that helps.
