I bought mine off eBay as a bundle. I have sent numerous messages to them after my issues have continued but with hardly any response or offers to replace. Because its been so long, i cant raise a case through eBay annoyingly. Ill dig out the name if i can, although i seem to remember they had good feedback so may be unaware of the issues.

Ok, it's been a little while, we have had a nightmare with the weather and our unit where my car car is kept. For 3 weeks now its been a nightmare "Convertible" style workshop....not ideal.

Posted Image

It was fixed this week, so after popping down every couple of days to check all parts and tools were still there, it was in no real state to work on the car, after a quick tidy up, i broke into some of the various packages which had been arriving over the last couple of weeks.

Posted Image

Luke Tow Strap

E-Tech Short mirrors (Will be sprayed as the carbon "Effect" is well, not effective.)

Door Grab Straps....for a plan i'm still formulating

Slave Cylinder number 4.......

Wired up switch panel ready to butcher the OEM ones

Black Fuel filler bolts

Carbon Gear knob

I have also (Contraversionally) Removed the middle grove and start button recess from my Dash and covered with Alcantara. The flash makes it look Purle but it is Black. Didn't cost much as i only used cheap material, there are a couple of bits i'm not happy with so this  may end up being done again properly by me or DTT

Posted Image

Gear knob looks really good up close, just need to change the base bit from Silver to Black

I have Also removed my Steering wheel....how tense is the Airbag bit!!!

Posted Image

I was all set to get a removable boss and new wheel but was a little concerned at some of the insurace companies who may have an issue, found a chap from and old link fro here and getting it re-done in Alcantara....will post up the results.

Probably not much more to happen for a few weeks apart from fitting the above, i have however sent an email to our resident "Whiners" about booking an appointment for their maigic. Fingers crossed, April could be the time.

Then it will just be the body work to sort.....and a million other things i find along the way. This began as a "refresh" but i think now definately qualifies as a "rebuild"....and doesn't my bank balance know it.......

So you've kept the old wheel, it's not removable, but you've done an airbag delete? Why?

Exactly that Graeme, couldn't be bothered to faf with insurance and have always liked the OEM wheel. Will get it recovered as its got a few marks on it, then i can put the airbag back too.

Good. In my drunken state I was worried you were about to apply for a Darwin Award. Normal service resumes. Carry on...

1 step forwards......84 steps back ......

So i finally decided i had to remove the engine again for the latest broken slave cylinder. I had put it off for a few weeks now but with a bit of persuision the engine...which was running....is now out for 4th time. Super!!

I have the new parts for it but will be waiting until i need to the get the engine back in before fitting them so that there will be more eyes watching me hopefully to see what the hell i'm doing wrong!!

I'll be replacing the red clutch cover with the original cover and hoping the new clutch plate has not been damaged!

A few little jobs this week once the engine was out,

Now that Fez is off and running with the replacement lights, i felt brave enough to see if i could split mine to see if i could fit the broken projector lamp which is loose, front lense off in one piece....phew

Posted Image

Then prgress stopped. After an hour or so of heating the glue and pulling the sealent off the unit i still couldn't split it. I think thye have used a hefty amount and well, i got bored.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Fitted the switch panel i made with from some 3mm Carbon Sheet, still undecided whether i like it but...it's in now.

With my nice shiney Carbon fibre shroud to fit, i thought i'd take the old one off ready

Posted Image

Posted Image

4 very small fiddly bolts later, the stack and shroud came out

Posted Image

I'll refit when my dash board is finished so that everything is new at the same time!

Excellent service from the guys at Royal Steerign Wheels. Jack has done a great job.

It feels really good and saves all the hassle of losing the Airbag.

For info, i have Black Alcantara with a Black Stitch, Red Leather Middle Marker and it was £135 + £10 postage. turned around in 9 days. Lovely.

Well, thats another month gone by!!

Back down to the workshop today to remind myself of how far behind i am in this whole Saga! thumbsdown

A Parcel from Tom was waiting for me on return from my holiday, so it was Heater 1st on the list today :

Posted Image

Battery Out

Posted Image

Old Heater out.....

The good thing about having taken everything apart recently.....all the bolts come undone!

Slight difference between the 2 :

Posted Image

Luckily this one is replaced with the new kit....it had seen better days

Posted Image

After removing the above, the new connection wouldn't go through the gromit, removed it and the wire just about went through with a little persuiasion

Posted Image

New unit in

Posted Image

I didn't have the m6 screws in amongst the kit, but had a few leftover from my JG bolt kit so all was good :D

I went for the "electrical tape around bolt and allen key" method to ensure no dropped bolts into the fan when putting the radiator back on

Posted Image

Plugged in the wires as per the Guide on here

Posted Image

Done

Posted Image

Just need a big jubilee clip for the hose on the fan

As the engine is out again, there is not way to test yet but i'm sure it will all be fine :tt:

Finally got round to putting the seat and harness in to check for fitment

Posted Image

I had spoken to JJJ about the seat as i was sitting quite high and knees touching the wheel, after speaking to the guys at JK they could make me a lower subframe, but it would be fixed which is not ideal.

Now it is in properly it seemed a lot better so i will leave it as it is and see how we get on. I will probably get the "Pads" re-covered....although a new set is only £70 so might be easier.

I bought some Alloy indicator stalks on here when they appeared in Matt Black so thought i would fit them today....After taking the cowl off and looking i could not work out how they fitted.......then a quick search on here "Cut the originals off".....oh simple as that

Posted Image

Well, when in rome.........

Posted Image

No going back now.

New one on and tightend up

Posted Image

Repeat ont he other side

Done

I bought a set of Robin Louvres on here a while ago and after treating myself to nuermous new power tools in B&Q this weekend i thought i would have a go at cutting the out. It didn't go well with the 1st attempt.

I have cut too much off on a couple of the vents themselves so they look a little out of place compared to the rest, after speaking to Martins (Thanks for all the advice!!) i think i can rectify it.

So a change of tact :

THIS IS IN NO WAY A GUIDE!! i AM LITERALLY MAKING IT UP AS I GO ALONG!!! :D

Drill the corners of the vents

Posted Image

Dremel along to the holes each end

Posted Image

Then dremel in a diagonal through the middle.....being careful not to cut the vents themselves

Snap the middle pieces out from the weakend holes

Posted Image

Repeat MANY times

Posted Image

Excuse the wonky cutting, this is my 1st attempt at anything "Bodywork" releted. Now its time to get the files out and tidy up the edges and generally make them look a little more presentable.

Thats it for today, Nelly is trying to tempt me with items  so the next update could include a variety of things! Hoping to get the new slave unit into the engine, replace to clutch cover and get the engine back in next time....just want it running now, it's been far, far, far , far, far too long.

Carpets was the 1st job this week, after a delivery from Fred. thumbsup

Rather than just cover all the dirt over i decided to make the effort and give it a good scrub before putting the carpet down

Posted Image

After

Posted Image

I put the "Mat" bolts in to hold the carpet in place then added the double sided tape ready to hold it down to the floor

Posted Image

Posted Image

The side panels are a little short so i've emailed Fred to see if i have done something wong

Posted Image

Main section in and down with the mats back in place

PPPPP

As the side panels are not on yet, nothing is bolted down but you get the idea. I have added the Passenger seat back in, but no doubt that will end up getting changed over for something.
