Out of interest, what's the consensus on the VSE on a standard NA bearing in mind the Bedford noise limit: drive by - 101 DB static & Drive By - 87dB at 20m Don't want to book and be turned away... Or should I fit a modified NA backbox I may have access to? Advice appreciated and a happy new year!

Depends on the condition of the vse really But always depends on which way the wind is blowing at Bedford! Could be interested in this one tho depending on weather

Condition wise, it looks fairly ropey from the outside, can only assume steel worm has eaten some of the internals. Think it might be a good idea to fit the other box to be on the safe side.

Always good to play it safe! If you're local you can go and get a sound test

I got the tut tut board from induction noise on a K20 last trackday I did there. Not their fault of course but its a massive pain.

Really? What induction / exhaust did it have? Also what was it revving to? I was perfectly fine there (7800rpm) until started revving to 9k and that was induction noise too so changed air filter setup which made a massive difference and no everything is ok again "fingers cross" Bedford is a nightmare if wind blowing towards the sound metres

Last time I was there someone brought a brand new Porsche 997 gorgeous car but only managed one lap before getting black flagged!! He wasn't happy!

Booked this a couple of weeks ago.

RE: exhaust... I don't have a hugely loud exhaust but last time I was there was a GT3RS that got a warning. What do you normally get on static noise?

They were really hot on the noise meters in the morning when I went, but I was WOT past the noise meters in the afternoon with a cone filter on a supercharger and tyres screeching with no issue. If you're marginal, I'd suggest an early up shift past the meters in the morning.

Done Bedford a number of time with a standard NA and VSE. No issues ever.

I suppose my new car wont be any good there then as would be ideal as a try out? R1 engined Striker with a foam filter, exhaust is pretty quiet but induction noise would probably get me removed.

What car you got now Mr Fox?
