Please be gentle with me....
Are there any alternatives to fitting the Brembo calipers on the rear?
Has anyone fitted other calipers?
Thanks.

For what reason?

Are the rears not shared with a Dodge Viper or something, and a couple of other random cars..?

The reason for my question is that whilst I have refurbed ones on the rear of Vix plus another pair in the shed which require refurb, it would appear they are a right royal PITA if grub screws, etc are beyond help.
So....was thinking there may be an alternative off the shelf solution which is also cheaper.
Thanks.

It is believed that the caliper is shared with a Dodge Viper and a Renault 21 turbo, but never really proven afaik.
I think your most affordable option is from a low mileage breaker elise/exige or vx220.

Actually, you don't need to touch the grub screw unless there is a leak through it. You can pop out the mechanism (and assemble it back) through the back of the caliper.

The inside mechanical parts are the same, but the casting of the caliper width is different.
The Renault ones are much more narrow to fit over a non-vented (10mm thick) brake disc and the opposite is the Viper which AFAIK uses closer to 28-30mm vented discs.
Of course in EU/UK the Viper ones are rare as hen's teeth anyway, so that doesn't help as a source anyway
Rebuild kits for the Renault ones are fine to use on the VX/Elise ones and even new/rebuilt calipers from these sources can be gutted for the parts to fit in the VX/Elise ones and refresh them or get the special parts like the grub screws that are un-obtanium otherwise.
Bye, Arno.

Looking at how much i pissed away on this car over the years, a new set of rear calipers are not the end fo the world.
But i understand it's not for everyone.
