The max wheel size regs seem a bit strange too. Why limit VXT in Class C to 6.5J/7.5J wheel width but allow Exige & Elise 7J/8J I know they are just draft regs, but I can't see the reason for the difference, when they will be using the same control tyre. Only spotted that becuase I have 7J front wheels :D And am I right in thinking all VXs (NA in class B or T in class C) will require a 6 point cage since they are over 2000cc. Looks like an interesting series, although the 'by invitation' part puts me off a little. Pleased to see there's no mention in the regs of overtaking only by consent and on the left :P

The wheel regs for the VX220 aren't complete yet (as are a lot of the details for the VX) as I've haven't inputted any data into the system yet. THose sizes refer to the standard wheels (which we cant run anyway). We're all on 7J front rims. There are 5 VX's in the series, 1 is in class C (which isn't anything goes, there are still a whole load of things we can't do) which is my VXT, the others are all NA's all with TB's and all in class B. 3 are owned by the drivers the 4th is an arrive and drive car driven by a sponsor. As we're all over 2000cc (or FI) yes we need to fit full cages (MSA regs) but safety is safety, I'm not scrimping on that :P Only reason we're not listed is that I was tardy getting our details over to the organisors. Gary, its invitation as all the drivers were (are) vetted to make sure driving does not turn into somekind of destruction derby, these cars aren't cheap so we want to avoid contact if at all possible. For 2008 the series will likely be a championship with potentially different (new) classes and even a VX220 only class but who knows. The 2007 series is very much full with 35 car grids and a double figure reserve/qualifying list. This looks big!

Looks like you've had looks of frustrations with that car which is a shame as there are so few VX's racing these days. If you ever want to have a chat about how to get the best out of the car then feel free to give me a buz (01491 848800). A 300bhp VX could well be at the front of the LMA grid but would need to right setup to make it work and I'm happy to help you out on that score. Good luck with the rest of the season :-)

thanks for that, i 100% agree, 300+ bhp and someone who knows what he is doing should be pretty close to front... i managed to qualify well at snetterton last year, then cocked it up in the race... have got new suspecnsion set up this year and no testing time, hense crap results... managed 10 mins in qualiy... ie total track time this year... not ideal..

good new though, when i did manage to get it going handling was way better, need to make some minor adjustment to ride height and probably revert to 550 lbs springs on front...

going to be at snetterton on 24th october once i have fixed engine & clutch... good news despite loss of approx 4 litres of oil, block & head appear to be ok...

Sorry for the hijack, but I've been mailing in trying to get a price for a good geo, and prices on wishbone bush replacement...

I bought some of your Nitrons, and the car's not been great since I got it Geo'd.

I've mailed Duncan three times now...... Any chance you can get him to mail me back, as I'm at Silverstone next millenium month .

Yeah cheers dude, but I'm in Germany right now so don't want to be hanging around on the phone. Returning an email isn't too much to ask is it....?

I'll ask Duncan to call you in the morning... Sorry for messages dropping through the net, we have just been moving the motorsport and Lotus business to a new premises and as a result we have dropped a few balls so please accept my apologies for that.
