Title says it all really. Its the centre fixing (the recessed one :9mm: ). Not sure how to remove it. the usual cutting a slot and screwing it out (oo err...) wont work as you cant get to it. Was going to swap my door cards - a 5 minute job, but not now! Any suggestions?? chinky chinky

<<here>> is a guide but I guess from your post that you have got as far as trying to remove the centre screw that holds the winder in place?? and it is this screw that is giving you grief??

Tap it and use a screw extractor? If you do want to slot it I've a dremel with 90' thingy which I think would do it, give me a shout if you want to try it thumbsup

mine did this i had to grind out the head as cutting a slot for a screw driver didnt work... iven got it off but just gor a stump where it was (the rest of the screw) and examaning it the person before me obviously had a problem with loose screw unscrewing itself and they superguled it in! basicaly i need to get a replacement and heat the stub to melt the glue to extract it now. pain in the arse!

:yeahthat:

Although due to lack of a spare I put the same one back in but not very tight. What is the size of the screw? Can it be found at screwfix etc?

Looks M5/M6 ish to me. Dont know the length as I cant get the friggin thing out! :angry2: The little cover caps are missing on my car, so I was going to fit some nice domed head bolts, which I found at work.

Did you cover the standard cards I gave you? I never liked the crappy cardboard ones that are in it and always meant to get around to replacing them- glad I never got around to it now

Hi Steveo

Yeah I've got them thanks. Either going to get some leather offcuts from work and retrim them or carbon fibre door cards. Probably the former as its £0 vs £300!!!

Getting fed up with people getting in and not knowing how to close the door

Other than that the cars fantastic, its on decent brakes now and will be out on track soon. Hope the Beemers a suitable replacement

I have gone to take my door cards out today and found i have this problem on one of the 4 screws on the winder itself. Could anyone explain how to remove it in thicko terms please? I don't have a screw extractor and my girly pink tool kit is somewhat limited lol Thanks all :)

If you remove the other three the you should be able to turn the handle enough to get access to the central screw thumbsup
