Surely you can just bring up task manager with bf3 running and it will tell you whether all your physical memory has been used or not ?

Yeah the reason I say I think is I've not really paid much attention but on my sidebar I've got an app which shows RAM/CPU usage and I'm sure when I come out of the game I see the last few minutes were maxed out.

the good answer would be : depends if you have a SSD or not. If not, definitely get 8 GB
