ABS light came on... Turned car off and back on and it had disappeared. Happened twice today.. Any ideas?

Might be the ABS unit, but it's most likely that the sensor is failing at the wheel hub. Bumpy roads will trigger it too if it's this. Check the connection at each wheel first and see what condition they are in.

I figured it could be that..

Is it a case of even it if came slightly off, and instantly reconnected it would need the car restarted to clear?

Turning off and on shouldn't make a difference, as it should only extinguish when it recognises a correct set of readings.
