Do the front and rear clams from a lotus elise fit onto the VX220 chassis. Is it a direct swap or if there work involved??

You can make anything fit if you have enough time, money and skills. However, in answer to your question no, it's not as simple as just unbolting a VX clam and then replacing with an Elise clam.

"You can make anything fit if you have enough time, money and skills" In my case that would be a 'no' on all three counts then

Anybody know what happened to the Elise/vx? Is there anymore information about the project?

It is doable but its not at all easy. An easier route would be to sell the VX and buy an Elise if you wanted to stick exige panels on. That said with VX prices you could get a VX, the clams/rad surround/sills/doors for roughly the purchase cost of a half decent Elise. If you are rebuilding/repainting anyway its a potentially good little cheeky upgrade.

Is depends what your project is. If you are planning a massive refurb and tuning or racecar project you could get to a point that it wouldn't really matter if you started with an elise or a vx....

I'd take one as my daily run around. Thought I don't think the kids would appreciate sitting on the engine!

Epic looking car, you could take that straight out the picture, manufacture it and sell millions of units I reckon, particularly if they didn't put a lawn mower engine it this time! LOL

You guys over-egg the extra 50 Kg of a Z20LET over the Z22SE. The fact of the matter is that it's torque/weight and power/weight ratio are improved which is what makes a car move fast on the road, abeit at the expense of a bit of nimbleness.
