I'm not entirely sure what makes the VXT so much heavier but at a guess off the top of my head: the alternator is excessive, heavier flywheel at a guess, iron block, heavier cast crank probably to cope with more torque, heavier rods to cope with more torque, turbo, heavier cast exhaust manifold probably, extra oil+water pipes to turbo.

I know that Nipper is now a very heavy 939 KG with 1/3 tank of fuel (so more like 960 Kg with a full tank). Making the car heavier does negatively affect it's "flingability" for sure, but ultimately on any sort of semi-decent road surface (ie not the wheel bending terrible B-roads near me) the negatives of adding that weight are completely offset by the positives of the extra power and torque.

Alternator and flywheel are stupidly heavy on the na aswell. As is the exhaust mani. Nipper is a bit of a heavy weight nev! Anywhere where you can strip some weight out with out compromising?

Hmmm, nothing much springs to mind, except the front splitter (but I don't mind extra weight over the front axel TBH). The bigger wheels + tyres have added a lot of weight to the car I suspect. I just have to accept it is heavier and drive accordingly (i.e. with +1500 extra revs over a normal VXT) to get moving.

What's the measured weight of an NA for comparison? Quoted Kerb weight is 875kg which isn't really that much lighter...

So the weight difference is only that of a fat bastard driving against a skinny guy or like having a small passenger sat in and that effects the handling. Can't say I notice much difference with a passenger in my NA

I think you can notice the difference between a passenger or not on track

Posable as you could have say 14/15 stone at your side, Jan is under 8 stone and I don't feel any difference at that extra probably just balances the car nice

Yeh, I notice a passenger, but its more on acceleration than handling.

I also notice the SC being sh*t-slow compared to the stg2 turbo that went before it!

I also notice 'surviving' when driving it in the wet mind!
