Poly Bushes Fitted

Fitted new poly bushes this weekend and the car feels like new. None of the jarring and avoidance of pot holes any more! :) Started at the back which were the easier ones. First corner took 2 hours 15 mins. Second corner, 2 hours 8 mins. O/S front, was a bit of a pig with putting the shims back in but managed to do it in 3 hours. N/S front seemed to take longer due to a bolt not wanting to go back in, but still took 3 hours. The bush removal tool was brilliant! Didn't have to take the wishbones off to remove the bushes. Very pleased with the result. :D

Good work, like I was saying on the 'ring trip they are well worth doing thumbsup Castor shims are a right pain aren't they :)

I went for autobush, got em cheap off ebay.

Go on then, spill the beans on the front end issues. I've just completed the rear end wishbones (using Cliffie's SuperPro bushes) seemed easy enough to me, but I admit Im dreading tackling the front end. Whats so difficult with these caster shims (try not to put me off too much :P ) Edit: and just to add, how come you dont look like you've come out of a coal mine? I seem to attract oil, dirt, grease before I've even picked up the first spanner and socket. Im doing it wrong somewhere

First of all its difficult to get to the bolts on the top wishbone, you have to turn the steering on the lock and drop the anti-roll bar. Then once out, the shims fall out all over the place (basically 4 washers) and when you try and put them back in the gap is very tight so found it best to glue them together and use lots of swearing! I'd just started again after lunch in the pic, which is why I look so clean. You should of seen me when I'd finished. :-p

I should point out its not my garage and it is brand new. My car was first job to be done in it!

The bush removal tool was brilliant! Didn't have to take the wishbones off to remove the bushes.

Very pleased with the result. :D
