I fitted front speakers too in a couple of the air vent holes 10cm seakers fit without too much bodging, helped a lot as I found with just the rears once i was moving at motorway/a-road pace I couldn't hear them over the road noise without having them at a deafing level, front speakers help with this
These are fitted on mine too. Worth it

Yep, your car was the inspriation
Never noticed them when steve had the car but seen a photo later, set the cogs turning!
Thought there must have been some Fife connection!

Dont know why more people havent done it, it doesnt really effect the windscreen demist!

After I removed the dash top one day, I forgot to connect them back up and could hardly hear the stereo at any volume, so makes a big difference to what you hear.
To the OP, if you do fit the front speakers dont forget to block off the airvent channels under the dash top, Steve used some polystrene blocks in mine

It's got some blue speaker without covers in at the moment. Are these the standard ones or something someone has added.
Yes, sounds like the standard ones without the covers.
Cheap and nasty cardboard things that look like that will fall apart any minute = standard

Plenty of room. Dash is probably 30mm+ thick and the ducting is similar.Whilst the topic is alive... What 4" or 10cm speakers did people fit to thier cars?
Been having another browse and there are a set of in-phase that have a mounting depth of 5cm, but my gut instinct is that the would probably be a touch too deep. Or would they fit, with the ducting still in place, but bunged up?

I cut the screw holes off to make them round and they fit (albeit a bit of cutting of the vent mounts) in the vent holes in the indent snuggly. The ducting went back on without any trouble. If I was to do it again I would buy some with grills, but other than that its a great cheap aural win.

Seems like the "in thing" for vans. Should be perfect for the VX.
One tin can is just the same as any other!
