Just got in from Cadwell Park today where Max and me had an awesome day! Never driven there before and it was pissing down for the first few hours but it dried out eventually and we had two hot sessions out there!! LOVED IT!!!! Unfortunately the new loom and crank sensor hasn't cured my missfire issue but I was still able to short shift and enjoy the day! Left my SD card with VBOX files in the garage and it's raining now so will check them tomorrow, but got some great vids of Max and me formation flying round the circuit doing EVERYTHING! rallly Max is stupid quick round there Imnotworthy

It's a brilliant circuit isn't it? :D Little bit scary in places in the wet though. P!sser about the loom and the sensor but at least that's a couple more things off the list of possibilities. :(

It was another good day at Cadwell...ie no accidents for me. Mind you, there was the usual car written off (boy racer) & a couple of Armco incidents when the rain belted down. Not to mention the dude in the e-type jag doing the sighting laps at 20mph for 3 laps!!! Then driving around very, very slowly all day mid lane causing frustration for everyone. Anyway, Jimmy's very quick & should get a win here in time attack with the times he was doing... I only have one video clip & I'll try & download it later... Jimmy, what was the name of that iPhone Trackday App... Cheers Max

I loved it there, but I expect my lap times were closer to Mr E-Type than to MaxR or JJJ. Look forward to seeing your vids and data.

My favourite UK circuit by a long way. Awesome place.

Jimmy my money is still on the hydraulic lifters, as I had exactly the same problem in my Nova. Short shifting before the trigger point, you'd never have known there was a problem with the engine.

I did Cadwell for the first time last week as well. Brilliant circuit and I'll definitely be doing it again sometime, although the lack of run off was a bit off putting :o Note to self: I need to get a smaller rear view mirror - (I can't even see the track in front when breaking just before the left turn to the Mountain). Unfortunately I had an early bath and left at lunch time. London is also a long way home especially when you have only 3rd and 4th gears!:( Best of luck JJ with your time attack rallly

I think Coppice is the highest G corner on a UK circuit. The uphill with camber coming in to help really rewards the brave. We take it flat in the Beemers and it is so very satisfying. I'm convinced we could get around Charlies flat as well, but still trying to convince the right foot not to twitch

I took a few laps before stopped dabbing the brakes at Coppice! Got to the point where I was just lifting off slightly before entering the corner, then back on the power.

With a dry circuit and the tyres on there's plently of grip there, but unfortunately I didn't get enough laps in to see if I could take it flat out. I'm not sure if an SC VX can get round Coppice flat out - something to aim for next time!

Harry's timing or summit like that I think mate....

Mate I'm well off pace at the moment, I really need this engine bug sorted as I could only manage a 1:47 short shifting when I really need to be pushing 1:44's to take the top spot. If the engine is sorted I know I can drag more speed out in the straights and up the rear section of the circuit which is where I've lost most time. Looking at the vids and the data comparison with Dave's laps I'm there or there abouts through the twisties but once you straighten up you both lose me :(

I hope so mate! I was hoping to get them fitted today to test at the National but the garage have not contacted me :(

The last time I was there and had instruction, the instructor said I could probably take it flat. The next time around, given the speed of approach he'd changed his mind.

The fact that the apex is blind always makes me lift, if they had a 3 metre apex marker I think it would help

I can guarantee that coppice is not flat in mine as the approach speed is too high. Trust me, I tried it last time I was there. Jimmy, do you need my head?

never mind Coppice. You are better off concentrating on the last corner (barn I think its called) for laptime. Its tricky to get right but if you do you gain all down the straight.

I always enjoy racing there too! Quite a technical circuit and one where you definitely can pick up time and learn from other lines, entry exit speed and bravery!

Coppice is about 100-110 mph at a guess. It takes a little getting used to, but when you dont ease off through Coppice & keep the momentum all the way through Charlies & wash wide onto the main straight it does feel awesome when you get it just right. Jimmy, Was that time of yours on a clear lap? I'm surprised...It seemed quicker! ...hope you get your engine sorted, that'll make a difference...

The entry yes but looking at Dave's laps (1:44) the apex speed is more like 85mph.

Any chance of some data Jimmy?

We are so much faster on the bendy bits than a bike and Cadwell is mostly bendy bits.
