Well as a lot of you know I sold my beautiful supercharged NA earlier this year to help fund another (non car related) project. Over the winter I'd dropped on this superb genuine Opel Speedster with only 37k on the clock. It was in pristine condition with the unfortunate exception that it had a little knock on the front resulting in the front lower clam being cracked.

This was the car in its former glory. Always garaged etc no bubbles on it too.

Posted Image

Drove it back OK from Leicester you can see here (pic from my CCTV) we just removed the front bit of the clam and headlight here to have a look and see how much work would be needed.

Ended up getting a new lower front clam section from MVS. Took the car into the garage and left them to crack on!

Oh I rubbed it all down first after deciding to go for a colour change

While the car was in I got cracking buying a set of new badges and painting them

Delighted with the paint job its really first class. Got the wheels powder coated and repainted all the interior and replaced all the brakes so its in tip top condition now. Last couple of jobs to do are just work out a couple of TADTS's such as the header tank and heater then its done!

Eye spy with my little eye, a tidy VX that I have yet to see. :( But at the same time one of the wheels on my car! Who did your powdercoated wheels Jon? And also how much?

Midas touch in Castleford Chris. £170 but they dont do center caps I had to spray them myself. I've used them before they are always very good.

I got a quot of £13 per wheel last week at a place in Bradford. :0 but thought 'cheap is good, too cheap is gonna be false economy'.

Was thinking £20-30 per wheel for a matching Anthracite coat on my replacment front wheels would be about right. Currently the car looks like this

Apparently some guy bought about 20 and imported them (through Ireland iirc) it has uk registration documents as an Opel speedster although the insurance database has it listed as a VX.
