Following on from Cliffe's Renault 5 GTT post i thought it might be worth posting this up, My dads Cosworth Ford Capri with full X-Pack....He has owned the car since 1998 when it was featured in Performance ford that year although it has not been used for some years it is still an awesome machine imo.....

For anyone that is interested here are some details of the spec:

Engine :

2.9 litre 24 valve , quad cam Cosworth V6 using BTCC Mondeo touring car Pro Sport 3000 fuel injection system with slide throttle operation. Deltic performace custom cam profiles, Mondeo touring car radiator and twin fans. alloy breather system, water header tank and power steering resevoir. Capri tailgate struts supporting the bonnet. DTA tailgate management system, Magnector HT Leads, Mondeo Touring Car six piece manifold with custom 3' stainless steel four box exhaust system. Borg- warner T5 manual gearbox with AP Racing paddle clutch Qualife limited slip diff....

Exterior :

Ford RS X - Pack arches and chin spoiler with custom lower spiltter, exhaust exits cut into both sides of rear valance, de bagdes front grille , delocked doors, rear windscreen wiper and washer removed, de badged rear 'V6 Cosworth ' Badge

Interior :

Brooklands leather interior with intergrated FIA approved Safety Devices Roll cage, suede momo steering wheel, alloy chrome gear knob, full steel rivited metal flooring, drilled sparco pedals...

That is nice thumbsup must be worth a few bob. Hab a new one in black when they first came out,first ones had a 4 speed box.It was the first in the area and was a nice motor in its day but not as nice as that one thumbsup

I'm in love..... with a ford! Ahhhhhhhhhh It is beautiful. I have always wanted a capri project, that is almost the exact colour I want too... your dad would be disgusted to hear that I'd do everything the same on the outside and then run white viper stripes! Probably best you dont tell him! lol

Utterly gorgeous. I always think of the Top Gear episode where they bought classic sports cars, and James May bought a Capri. The other two mocked him and his come back was simply: "Yeah, but haven't you always just wanted one?" Spot on.

My evil stepfather had a 2.8 Injection which is the sole reason I became a petrolhead!!!! Numberplate was SHT 999S :lol:

I had a 1.6 laser back in the early 90's. a friend of mine owned a 2.8i and that was a quick car in its day.

Had a 3.0S, reg JET 306W, really lusted after a 2.8 injection but could never quite afford one. That X pack though :wub:

Thanks for all the replies.....Just to confirm the car is a 1979 3.0S but it has obviously had quite alot of modifications since then!

Mangham, they are no longer on the car but these were originally fitted for a reason and were fitted along time before the local corsa had them basically to keep the wipers on the screen at high speeds on track etc
