Having sold my Lightning Yellow VX220 to Jon @ CourtenaySport about 4yrs ago, I aways vowed I'd be back. I never left the the forum in that time even without a VX, I took part in various VX meets and track days. Fast forward to the VX National Meet at Anglesey in July and the decision was made to return to the fold. I set about selling my MX-5 (most recent toy car) and looked for a suitable VX220 to buy. I was fairly well decided on what I wanted.... unabused, low miles, NA. So, I bought a Solid Yellow 2003 car with 12k miles on the clock. Over the last couple of days I've ordered: Eliseparts Ally radiator (preventative measure whilst front clam is off). SuperCharger and Manifold from CourtenaySport :groupjump: and various bits of shiny metal.. So, here starts my Stage 2 SuperCharger project thumbsup Can't wait to get started. Will be carrying out a few useful/choice mods along the way as well, such as changing the rubber roof/windscreen seals etc.

Just be careful because if you're anything like me you'll have a final target which just keeps getting further and further away with all the little 'additions' you want to do to it

Or worse still end up in Joe's position with an ever improving, yet ever more undrivable VX.

And it is about time you returned to the fold CocoPops, you were lingering around here too much for a non-owner (pot calling kettle - I know)

Apparently a "big and heavy box" has been delivered at home according to SWMBO. So, I guess it's either a box of catfood... or 2x SuperChargers!

Clams off today. Both front and rear. Couple of problematic bolts... Clam to crashbox (behind fog light)..... Sheared the fibreglass, will need to rebuilt the mount point (as a few others have had to do) Clam to sill bolt (below door hinge in driver side) currently spins in the fixing. Passenger seatbelt mount, bolt has been changed at some point and spins whilst undoing. Firmly fixed but strange non the less. So, need to remedy them when it gets put back together. Supercharger before that though.

You forgot the front left passenger seat mount, the one that is almost impossible to get to and for which we ended up having to remove the seat from its frame.
Still, none of the issues seem that problematic. thumbsup

cut down allen key, some blue-tac , or iirc the ideal tool is a halford ratchet with the hex drive

I think I used a cut down key, which I then heated and bent in the vice to get an extra clearance from the dog leg shape

Photo's to follow later, not taken any but I will do. The clams are sat on the patio :) Outside.... which is just not right according to JG... ermmm, it's a car... they drive outside ;) I need to buy a "tapping kit" to retap the seat mounting, a "fibreglass kit" to redo the front clam mount (any pics of a repaired one anywhere?).

Clams outside are fine, I left the clams and the car (minus clams) outside for about 6 weeks. He's just being a pansy

I am genuinely surprised at how tolerant Mrs JG is. Suffice to say, if I suggested bringing so much as a door handle inside, I'd be met with something along the lines of "I'll tell you where you can stick that!" Just reserved the folloiwng at the local Halfrauds for collection with my trade card thumbsup http://www.halfords....tegoryId_165572
