I want an engine as clean as this one:

Pah, no good. I can see rust on the manifold, rust on the chain tensioner and a rusty EGR valve. Appalling. thumbsdown

:P :P :P

we'll probably junk the EGR, and we can clean up the tentioner. Manifold will have to be covered up with the heatshield. But I've not seen a vx engine that looks like this out of the box. thumbsup

So, a little (lot) of help from JG again and I now have a "JG fuel pump access hole":

Also, sorted the bolt under the drivers door (clam mount) by heating it to melt the silicon "captive nut" then cutting the bolt and collecting the now non captive nut from inside the sill.
We've fitted a new m8 bolt and wing nut to the underside. MUCH better and not likely to cause issues again.

All this is prep work before the proper work starts.

So, Mrs Pops and I went out to dinner last night, left JG and his better half to babysit our twins... I got a BBM during the meal from JG to say that he'd be out to the VX and recut the cross threaded seat bolt thumbsup Imnotworthy So, not only did he babysit (not that the girls woke!) he also fixed another part on my VX.
