Just got delivery of the vinyl you recommended for my windscreen surround, will try that before I attempt a whole car!

Looks brilliant Steve!!
Whereabouts are the joins in the panels? I.e did you do the whole front clam in one or apply it in sections?
There are no panel joins I did both clams in one go. There are joins where the grills are and where the petrol filler uright is (B pillar?) but the rest was done as one.
No excuse left for Silver owners
I was thinking the other day that a colour like blue or red might be the worst base colour to wrap and I think silver and black are the best.

I'm curious how many bits of vinyl you needed? it is 1x1.5m piece of vinyl which is not enough to do the whole car in one piece? So you have to have joins that must be difficult to do?
Also did you fill in your stone chips?
I bought 12 metres on a continuous roll and you make the joins where the panels meet. I filled the stone chips with P38 filler.
whats the wrap like with heat exposure? Thinking may wrap the track car but not sure if the ali panels will heat up too much?
DG
It was on my boot lid for 2 years without issue as once the adhesive sets it's pretty strong. Not sure for hotter panels though.

Thanks Steve, its a LA Gold (locost) so similar to the usual caterham 7 stylee setup. Well other than I have put the nissan 2lr turbo in there
think it will got warm but not excessive hot (he hopes
)
My skills to spray are poor and figured wraping could be easier..........or not?
DG
Depends on the shape of the part.... I'm crap at spraying but better at it than wrapping VX bits

I'd get some and chuck it on the car and see if it will stay put

Steve, in what way would a red or blue car be harder to wrap? It is because its harder to hide the base colour at the joins?
Things like the sill ends (under the arches) can be left on a black and silver cars as they wont massively clash. Orange on blue however would need you cover every last speck of paint.
