The VXR Sprint cars had larger ears hence the bulging engine cover with more grilles in it, to allow the additional air to get out again.

Someone also cut the bottom 6 inches or so off a set of ears and moulded them into the sill just below the normal ears.

Don't know about bigger ears (ask Noddy? :rolleyes: ) but there's been a few attempts at additional scoops eg below the existing ears and into the top of the clam. I even think there was a fairly nasty periscope affair to the air intake.

By enhancing cooling circuit and putting a charge cooler. These engines are liquid cooled, not air cooled. The amount of heat dissipated by transfer to air is very low compared to the dissipation into liquid.


Ok but where should I place my water cooler for my SC, should I place it in the side air intake of my VX 220 NA without turbo ears?!

Snorkels might work on a race car but they look stupid on anything else. thumbsdown
