Well it was ALWAYS going to happen and was approched a while back requesting if I would do this conversion for a member on here. Due to new addition to my family and work commitments I have been a bit off the radar and focusing on my track beast project when time allowed but and really excited to confirm the engine has just been purchased and list of other bits required following very soon. Most of the big progress will be early next year but am in a possition to start it off and hopefully by xmas have it all mounted an exhaust made etc Sure the owner will share his plans but I know you all love this stuff hence the teaser Spec is S3/Edition 30 2.0 tfsi turbo engine - basically its the stronger version of the mk5 gti lump that has lumpier cams, stronger internal, better inlet and bigger turbo as std and with a flash of software and uprated direct fuel injection pump makes 375bhp all day everyday and been high compression has excellent throttle response with minimal lag Running the 6 speed box with LSD fitted and custom shafts Running oe management Custom 3" exhaust Custom inlet Uprated fuel supply Charge cooler setup As you can imagine its custom mounts etc and some wiring hell but will retain all of the working vx bits oh and its an N/A So come next summer there will be a new beast on the block! :groupjump: :groupjump: :groupjump: If the owner wanted more power even smaller garrets can make 425 without opening the engine but imho a nice linear 375 in such a light car is going to be stupid fast anyway. Have the option to install adjustable maps but these smaller details are in the hands of the owner DG

More than you have spare Tim :P typical price for a good one is £1800-£2300 - turbos alone on this spec go for £1200 Although if you want it Tim could make more than 1 set of mounts and exhaust ;) I do have another vx owner who is interested in this future conversion but prob no the premium S3 spec one and go for a sensible 325bhp setup I paid less than the above due to trade contacts chinky chinky so passed that discount on DG

Yep beast finished other than making custon seat and another bonnet buldge after spending 3.5hrs making the last on and.........well its bigger than needed lol - not going to get out on track this year so its stored and finish a few minor changes I want to make for next year - will get some pics at some point to share but 550bhp per ton starting setup should be enough for now :P

DG Imnotworthy bet if this was not a 'customer' car and your own tho you'd be out to beat the 600+ bhp Greg over on SELOC is going for with his VAG'd Elixge thumbsup Looking forward to seeing it though :)

Sounds impressive and will be great to see. thumbsup Quick question though, in what way will it be different to the Audi engines Elise's (other than the body obviously).

I was taken out in one of Steve Guglielmi's Audi-engined Elises. Suitably bonkers! thumbsup  He used to do a range of conversions nominally 260-360 bhp but IIRC they were very expensive. Not sure if he still does them. Anyway, good luck with the project. chinky chinky

Should be a little easier given the slightly larger subframe, I'd have thought. Still, all the same problems that the Elise guys have already solved.

Imagine that with less lag ;) - maybe not quite as much top end fiz think they are running a bigger turbo now and 500od bhp

But you get the idea sir

If it was mine it would prob be the v8 RS4 (it fits, I can confirm ;)) or as I need forced induction in my life the new v6 s/c matt mentions or a big turbo tsi setup.

Simon you know for me its not all about that small power band of crazyness :S

Very similar although only really ever seen Steves and Wayne / Alex ones and most of the conversions run the older 1.8 20V turbo which is a great unit but new one is just better :P

Mounts for the 1.820vt conversion dont fit :( could use if went for top mount setup but easier to just make my own mounts and leave a fully working engine alone
