Just so we're clear; do you mean the 'boot bonnet'...bonnet? or the front...errrrrrrr bonnet. :ninja: My rear engine cover is off at the mo you see, so if you mean that one I can check when I get home, about to leave the office now.

If you would still require the venting to help the flow from the radiator then I suspect you could save yourself 300-700g as trying the lay and set CF to the right shapes would be a bollox of a job.

It's moderately heavy Joe, I remember trying to fit mine back on to the bracket a few weeks ago and it was around 3 to 4 KG at a guess. The bracket alone is probably 500 grams. Have you considered taking the ABS unit out altogether? I bet thats a bit heavy and useless weight too and getting in presumably an obstacle for the brake fluid to flow through. Will affect insurance though...

Joe, I think you'll find that once you drive you car after it's been mapped you won't be so obsessed about weight. Also, I think weight reduction from the rear of the car is far more valueable due to the imbalance of the front/rear axle loadings. I've been vaguely considering moving my swirl pot + header tanks fwd to shift the centre of weight forward. Have you got a lightweight boot lid yet BTW ? Honestly, once you have 400+ BHP, it will be much more about 'balls' than weight. I find the thing that hold me back is not lack of power but simply 'guessing' how fast you can get round a corner without spinning off.
