Can we start a topic about wings without fighting? Lol I really want a big wing, always have. I think they suit the VX imo and also would like the back end a little more planted. I know they need to be drilled through the clam which shouldnt be hard to do once lined up straight but i've heard after time the clam will be damaged due to stress? Also where can i buy one from? I want the style Lee has, the Thorney one is great but not for that price!

Isn't Lee's a generic one like the do one ebay? I don't have one, but from what I've read on here and the one I've seen, they must be bolted on to the chasis. The downforce generated will make the clam flex too much causing damage, if you just bolt to the clam. Again this is not from experience, so maybe Lee/Joe/Jimmy etc can give you some pointers.

It doesn't work as well on a black car IMO. I think having the blade in black contrasts nicely against other body colours. It is one of few wings that don't really need bracing though and is safe just to bolt through the clam with washers. (although I will still be fitting a plate underneath mine) You really need to cut down the supports too so they miss the lights/ boot.

Ah, i think it suits black as it blends in and looks more like its meant to be there but thats just my opinion, does everyone else think it doesnt work on black?

Its actually safe to just bolt through the clam? What about the middle, i've heard it wobbles a bit? Would that damage the clam after time? I dont fancy putting supports in the middle as it would spoil the look. Have you got one?

I think as long as you have the supports body colour it will still look like it's meant to be as the angles follow the bodywork so well. I think most of the people who have them just have them bolted through the clam and have been fine. I have one that having finished modifying I hope to fit next week. I will not be taking the risk of clam stress so will be supporting the underside of the boot with metal plate.

If after having run with it for a while I experience the reported wobble I may fit some support struts, the guy in the picture below has fitted some DIY ones but you can get nicer looking intentionally designed ones like http://www.joesracin...uct_id=841]this[/url] which I think in a way kind of add to the look.

If you don't cut down, fill, and smooth the supports they will overlap the lights and look odd as in the picture. It's not that hard to do though (I have pics of how I did mine if they will be of use) If you don't cut them you will not be able to have boot opening clearance.

Yeah if i choose to go with the GT4 wing then those pics on how you filled the support down would be great mate. It seems to be the easiest wing to fit?

Cheers mate i really like this wing, the supports look loads taller in your pic to the one on ebay, or does the one on ebay extend? How did you fix yours exactly and where did you get the supports for in the boot etc?

My car was running with the Exige spoiler but it was too flexible so I changed to the a buddy club carbon fibre spoiler. It was kind of like Chris' pictured but the mans version  mine was mounted properly too ;)

basically the spoiler bolts to the clam and from the clam its braced to the chassis on mine its braced from the front bolt and not the rear one so it flexs a little but JJJ's is completley solid, although the difference is about 50KG in metal bracing ;)
