prefer to stay oem at 86mm, if you would be okay with splitting pistons seperate. If not then I'll need a cost to drop out the z20let , keep gearbox+clutch+flyw , bolt in VXR with a K06 turbo.

okay, I'm interested. pm me with some prices, obviously it would need to be fitted , question is stay with F23 and swap over the clutch+fly , or M32 with all the driveshaft, linkages etc. Turbowise I have a K06 that I want to get refurbed by turbodynamics , as it was not as described by the seller.

Steve bad week for me at Fujitsu (stupid busy :S) but will try to get you some more info and prices over the weekend ;) You would need to make custom ones between the 2 sets of shafts of buy the europa ones - know what I would do :P lol Also you have the mount to address and cables but again either off the shelf or bit of modding I think the 6 speed is a better item but work to complete as per above - F23 bolt on job done DG

tbh, not sure about the M32 being stronger, I researched that they suffer from bearing failure on the lower main shaft assembly, "21 roller bearing" on this diagram

Posted Image

Synchro cones M32 - 1st + 2nd = 3 cone , 3rd + 4th = 2 cone , 5th + 6th = 1 cone , Rev = 1 cone
Synchro cones F23 - 1st + 2nd = sintered bronze double-cone blocker rings , 3rd + 4th = 2 cone carbon fiber blocker rings, 5th + Rev = 1 cone carbon fiber molybdenum coated blocker ring

Think I am just going to use the cosworth kit for the standalone setup and not decided if going to bother with under piston spray, just drop the balance shaft stuff DG

I wouldn't bother they are only there to accomodate emissions

doesnt it mean you can lower fueling though as you dont have to overfuel to keep pistons cool?

I suppose the other option is bog standard pistons + better rods and arp bolts. See how much pain the pistons can take.

vxr engines go for good money dont they! how much power can a vxr unit take? would it be worthwhile dumping a complete z20leh engine in and selling your z20let to recoup some of the money?

If you wanted to buy a LEH engine then its worth trying JST car breakers, 0114 270 0200 i got my engine off them from a 10 plate astra with 7k on the clock for £1000 + VAT which was half the price of nearly everywhere else i tried.

when i bought my LEH mate i paid 2,000 for it. then i kept my f23 and sold the m32, shafts flywheel and clutch for £500 which is cheap and also my engine for £1000 so easily worth spending the £500 on it IMO
