Took car out again today and temp ranged from 98 to 110 it seems to be getting better but will try all your idears out, and the fan should only kick in at 100 aprox as I understand all I did to it was put mire oil in and this problem arose it was on min and it is now on max (not over max)

Thanks for pics stuwy. Just a silly question where is it on car and is it easy to take off. I take it I'm checking to see if it opens at 100 deg by boiling kettle

Found fault !!!!!!! Took it to garage he had ecu computer attached climbing the rpm range and steam came out of the coolant overflow tank. I have bought and refitted new one problem solved. Sweet!!!

no presure becuase of cracked expantion tank?
well its fixed now! do you have a cover for the tank becuase it gets damaged from sunlight and becomes brittle..

Yes on the cover and it was the cap it wouldn't tighten fully
