I've been thinking a while about starting a thread about my Speedster, and I finally got my thumb out of that dark space...

It all started on th 15th of July last year when I bought an Opel Speedster 2.2 SC from 2003.
The car has the color British Racing Green, and had been rolling just less than 40.000 km (about 25.000 miles?).
I'm the third owner of the car (original buyer is from Germany, and imported to Sweden back in 2008).

The following was done on the car when I bought it:
  • SC stage 2 conversion done by Hitec (racecams, ported head...).
  • Full alu radiator.
  • Komo-Tec sportcat.
  • Sandtler 4-point harness on the drivers side (belt slots will be made).
  • OZ Supertourismo WRC-rims with Toyo R888 (205/40-17 front & 235/40-17 rear).
  • ATE Power Disks.
  • Flexible steel break lines.
  • EBC Yellow Stuff break pads.
  • JRZ racingdampers.
  • Vmax display (with shiftlight).
  • Lightweight battery.
  • Fire extinguisher.
  • 340R Track alignment.
What I'm planning to do (and have done) until spring:
  • Pro-Alloy tank (48 liters). - Done. Just to check that there's no leakage...
Also fixed the hole at the fuel pump (with JG's version as model)... Only need to do a cover now...
  • Powerflex engine mounts. - Done.
  • Short-shift (from VX-Performance). - Done.
  • Short ratio steering rack (2.50) (from VX-Performance). - Have but not mounted.
    New track rod ends ordered.
  • Steering joints and rod. - Ordered.
  • TAT short diffusor with rounded cutting. - Have but not mounted.
  • DLC front and rear racing towing eyes. - Have but not mounted.
  • Elise Parts removable steering wheel kit. - Ordered.
Thinking about using OMP Superquadro steering wheel...
  • (Oil and filter change. - Done.)

Looks great! I'm not usually a fan of green, but that's very smart looking, nice choice of mods too :)

Looked at som papers that came with the car.
There was som TÜV papers about the rims (coudn't find any receipt thou).
I didn't make everything out, since it's in german...

According to them (some written by hand), it's the following:
Front - 7Jx17 H2, ET 38
Rear - 8Jx17 H2, ET 35

I don't know what the H2 stands for thou...
Also it says something about (written by hand) VA for the front and HA for the rear...?

Maybe you can make more out of it than I can. :)

There's also a list of different rim sizes with some identification.
I can find out the exact no. if i knew the bolt pattern (I know it's 5 bolts and I guess 100 mm?) and the diameter of the center ring (54.1, 56.1, 57.1 or 58.1 mm?)...

Seeing your metal chargecoolerpipes under the car, you probably have one of the very early Hitec SC conversions. Piggyback ecu and small chargecooler-rad in the front? Things have evolved, so maybe wise to contact Hitec to see what you can upgrade. (Ow, and you most likely have some kind of spacer on the front wheels (VA) with that ET38)

those pipes probably helped cooling as well, cold air rushing over them.

Ok, that explains that part. ;)
Yep, piggyback and standing CC in the front.
I think the conversion was done back in 2005 (if I remember correctly from the papers that came with the car).

I know that there's spacers fitted on the rear, I haven't actually checked at the front (yet)...

Regarding the splitter, I must say that I don't have a clue.
Can't remember seeing any paper/receipt for it either... :(

I would contact Hitec about your engine specifics, because with that ported head and the race cams you have a potential 300HP supercharged Speedster there. With the right ecu programming, but you need to know if they upgraded the engine internals too (conrods & maybe pistons) As you have the piggyback ecu, you will also have a spacer plate fitted to the head to lower compression. Modern conversions run the SC with standard 10:1 compression.

You got a point there.
I think I'll drop a line to Hitec. :)
Is it just the piggyback that needs to be reprogrammed (in the case of upgraded internals)?

I didn't know that there should be a spacer to lower the compression.
I'll check that when I get home.

There was 258hp and 320nm according to the seller (probably after the conversion, and maybe a little less now after all the miles...), but at the moment I'm pretty happy with that...
...but you'll never know in the future...! :D

Bits and pieces are coming back together...
Yesterday I made a new cover for the bigger hole to the fuel pump (forgot to take a picture, maybe tomorrow).
Today I "took care" of the diffusor. :)
