I used cool sleeve 1st, cut around it in a spiral then it can be wrapped round cable for some extra protection and a bit of air gap inside, I actually used 2 layers then 25mm speed shield to hold it all together.

I cut the heat covering off the original cables and put it on the new one, although they don't go all the way round. On top of that I used the stuff Matt linked too, then on top of that I wrapped round some nimbus. I've also used heat wrap on the entire exhaust plus, just to make sure, I've put more nimbus round the exhaust where it come close to the cables. I hoping that should be enough :)
