the manifold on the let is prone to cracking they changed it on the leh (made it stronger somehow) so it doesnt crack as easy afaik thats the only difference

Correct me if I'm wrong but does the turbo run out of steam at a certain point? If so would this be better with the leh turbo?

I believe with the leh Turbo you can have more boost pressure and you need a map to utilize it.

Basically you can use more boost with the LEH turbo and quite a few have seen 290ish bhp with them. You will need extra things adding to make that work. As mentioned. Cooling, Clutch and injectors will all need doing. For more power the next step would be the AET version which is good for 320ish but that's when things start getting expensive when rods, pistons, oil cooling etc etc is required.

Lol. To be fair if you google vxr turbo on z20let...you will find it well covered. Essentially its slightly better but basically the same unit. Any other turbo is a serious undertaking - you woild only do it as part of a very large investment...and only because you want to race or are mental. If people appear unhelpful remember this is a major mod that few have done. ...that and we have all been telling ourselves we dont drive a 'hairdressers car' and here you are, wanting to tune the crap out of your car beyond most of our aspirations for our own cars.

Thanks for that info guys, just what I was looking for :) ive got a c/c and will be getting a clutch fitted if it starts slipping so I may go for the leh depending on the state of my oem turbo.dont think il be going for stage 4 tune as it might be too agressive but it would be nice to have the bits incase I change my mind in the future :)

Garret conversion on my standalone package is the way forward :D Autovaux do the Astra VXR turbo currently for £349 so not much to replace and as covered no brainer over the older LET item, AET turbo is a nice unit also but as stated can start to get expensive DG

No problem all - try to help where I can ;) £482 I think was final cost inc surcharge Tim but I would get a buggered one off ebay cheap if you were doing that to save the £130 surcharge. Or just get it when you need it. Price will stay very close to that so done worry - got one last week and still had 53 in stock You will have a £9 delivery cost also ;) But every little helps Happy boosting :D :D :D DG

LEH turbo has a more efficient compressor design which means it can produce the same boost pressure at a lower temperature or you can remap to a higher boost level before it will reduce the power due to the heat.

What's the price of the Garrett unit compared & what can that offer in your standalone package?

Cheers.
