Any ideas on how many other cars there will be on the day & how suitable this is for beginners?? Donny was with Bookatrack or something like IIRC?? Just asking as BH has a few spots with not much run off and as a bit of a beginner I'm not sure if I should be sticking my car on track without insurance. Was happy to do this at Brunters due to the lack of anything much to hit unless you got a bit stupid.

Is this the Easytrack day at a VX discount? How many VXs are going and what sort of runoff is available? Ta, Ben

Ta,
Ben

Yes.

Its the Brands indy circuit so there are a couple of corners which need casution but generally its very safe and is a favourite of most people.

Impressive place really thumbsup

I did my first ever trackday at Brands. Apart from one hairy moment on the first lap!(Mental note - wait for tyres to warm up before really going for it) it was fine. I can think of two corners where you'd be at risk of stuffing it but they both have gravel traps. Of all the races I've seen at Brands I've only seen 1 car make it through the gravel and that was a Ferrari 360. They were running the Grand Prix circuit that day and he'd just come off a long straight so was probably going pretty fast.

Brands Hatch was my first real track (i.e. not an airfield) and it was fantastic. A totally different experience. Only myself, Thorney, Neil H and Mark (Vauxhall Vectra race driver) were there. Plenty of interest in the Monaro and VXR220... Mark and Neil were giving passenger rides throughout the day. It was great to get the free tuition from Mark. Most exciting (and scary) point of the day for me was when the car slipped on Paddock Hill - thought for a second that I was heading for the gravel and armco but luckily got out of the slide and carried on. Damn lucky as I can't put it down it to skills!! Circuits are great. I am going to find it difficult to go 'backwards' to airfields now!! Ben P.S. No photos I am afraid!
