What is obvious is that certain characteristics suit certain drivers.

Totally agree.

Yes the lines you two take are very different!

I think most of that is down to compensating for power delivery. Take the right hander of rocket for example, Mike takes a nice wide line as he can max the power while still turning but I struggle to get full power down like that so I take a direct entry (quicker entry but slower middle phase) allowing me a straighter exit to floor it. We get a concertina effect but the net result of the overall corner is almost identical.

260hp turbo vs 260hp supercharger

And this video seems to show the same sort of effect as that at Anglesea. The SC pulls a small amount out of tighter corners, but the tubby pulls it in a little on the longer straights. End result is virtually the same (assuming both drivers weren't slowing for each other for video effect).

At the National this year I will be st4 VXT and JJJ will be st3 SC as long as both our maps go well. Not as direct a comparison as JJJ's car is stripped down and has decent aero but we can give it a go.

Maybe someone else who is handy might have a closer comparison. Techie maybe?

I Just need better tyres than these AD08's

Ah ok, didn't realise he'd put the cage back in. I know it was removed for TA, thought he might have gotten rid. I'm always up for a challenge anyway :)

Yes yes Steve I'm hoping my map will be sorted in time for the National (Nick has kindly given me a dyno slot :)) so we can do a comparison there for sure.

I agree fully with Cliffie. For my budget I am faster in a SC than anything else but it money were no object I would buy another Turbo and push 400bh+

As for vids showing differences watch the following vid from 11:00 mins onwards. Dave can easily match me for grunt (280bhp ish to my 260bhp ish) but cannot match the drive I can get exiting some corners! In Dave's defense his tyres were overdue a rest :)

ROFL, I'm sure you're wallet spider has lots of pennies stored away considering the high level job you do.

It will be a massive anti climax. There were stage 1,2,3,4 turbos and stage 1,2,3 sc's last year so whats going to change this year? Probably p*ss it down and a standard na will bully everyone.
